Job Description

Job Title: IRATA Level 1 and 2 Rope Access Technicians

Location: Near Glasgow, Scotland

Start Date: 26/05/2025 End Date: 28/11/2025

Contract Type: Fixed-term Contract

Overview:

Applus+ is currently recruiting IRATA Level 1 and Level 2 Rope Access Technicians for an upcoming project near Glasgow, working on behalf of our client SGN at the Provan site. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a key project with one of the UK’s leading gas network providers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform rope access operations in accordance with IRATA guidelines and Applus+ safety procedures

· Carry out inspection, fabric maintenance, and repair tasks as defined in project plan

· Carry out the removal of redundant and defective infrastructure

· Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) standards

· Work collaboratively with the wider project team to ensure safe and efficient delivery within prescribed timelines.

· IRATA Level 2 & 3: Provide supervision and mentoring to less experienced technicians

· IRATA Level 3: Lead allocated rope access personnel, oversee RA team safety, co-ordinate and undertake repair orders at defined locations on main structures, accurately document removal and repair sequences as per agreed method statement Provide daily work progress reports

Requirements:

· IRATA Level 1 or 2 Certification – (Minimum 500 hours logged experience for L1s)

· CCNSG, IOSHH or Safety Passport Equivalent

· Large Infrastructure and steelwork experience essential

· Mechanical & decommissioning experience essential

· OPITO rigging competence preferred

· MEWP competency and experience preferred

· Basic fabric maintenance competence (application of protective coatings at repaired areas as per ITP)

· Physically Fit for role

· Ability to comfortably and safely work at height

· Ability to adapt to change

· Ability to work in a team and follow instructions

· Fundamental Computer literacy
