Job Title: NDT Technician – Level 2 EN4179 Qualified

Overall Purpose of the Role:
Perform in-service and pre-service Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections on a range of aerospace and industrial components, including castings, weldments, machined parts, composites, and assemblies. Ensure all work complies with client contracts and Applus UK Ltd’s operating procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

As an NDT Technician, you will play a vital role in a fast-paced test house environment. Your responsibilities include:

  • Conducting NDT Level 2 inspections using Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Radiography, as well as Fluorescent Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Penetrant Testing (DPI) for aviation and general engineering components.
  • Performing Fluorescent Penetrant Inspections for various components.
  • Assisting in the daily operations of the test house, including booking work, generating certificates, and creating delivery notes.
  • Performing control checks on consumables and equipment to maintain quality standards.
  • Managing the receipt and dispatch of goods, including unpacking, packing, and handling parts.
  • Keeping the workspace clean and organized to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Supporting the training of colleagues in additional NDT Level 2 qualifications to enable career progression.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Level 2 EN4179 Ultrasonic Inspection certification (or equivalent, such as PCN Aero Level 2).

Desirable:

  • Experience with static MPI benches and penetrant lines.
  • Previous experience in a test house or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of additional NDT methods.
  • Valid forklift license.
  • Valid passport.
  • PCN Level 2 General certification.
