NDT Technician - Aviation - Farnborough Airport

About the Role:
Applus is seeking a qualified and experienced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician to carry out inspections on customer aircraft and components at our client’s facility at Farnborough Airport. The successful candidate will perform NDT activities in compliance with company procedures, OEM specifications, and customer work instructions—delivering timely, high-quality inspections to support aircraft safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily NDT inspections on aircraft and components in line with client priorities and OEM/customer requirements.

  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and within designated timeframes.

  • Adhere to all applicable Quality, Technical, and Health & Safety standards while working on-site.

  • Conduct routine calibration, maintenance, and control checks on all NDT instruments, ensuring accurate record-keeping.

  • Ensure all inspection activities are properly certified and meet the customer’s purchase order and regulatory requirements.

  • Complete detailed job packs and accurate timesheets, including invoicing information, for daily submission to the Aviation Team Leader or Operations Manager.

  • Maintain professional communication with clients and provide all necessary documentation post-inspection, including EASA, CAA, FAA certifications, and Applus NDT reports.

  • Represent Applus in accordance with internal Quality and customer-facing procedures, maintaining high standards of service and professionalism.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and support cost-saving initiatives within the facility.

  • Assist the Aviation Operations Manager in the implementation of new projects and improvements.

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the aviation industry.

  • EN4179/NAS 410 Level 2 (or equivalent) certification in a minimum of PT, MT, ET, and UT, recognized by the UK National Aerospace NDT Board.
